Innovation and the Automotive Industry
One of the oldest and most historically traditional industries has been rapidly evolving over the past decade, constantly seeking ways to innovate and be environmentally conscious. As BMW prepared to unveil their new Vision Vehicle at IAA Mobility 2021, COVID struck and locked the world down. This led BMW to consider an alternative to the International Motor Show: Journee – The Metaverse Company™.
Journee created a Branded Platform metaverse for BMW so that they may use it for their many planned campaigns. But instead of keeping it a vehicle launch party for exclusive guests, BMW decided to make it fun and welcome the public to a momentous event – just like it would have been like at IAA Mobility. The launch of Joytopia was action packed with flying cars, giant mushroom forests and fully designed avatars – not to mention a foxy guide voiced by Christoph Waltz and a Coldplay concert with the debut of their new song!
Those who solely attended Joytopia for the viewing of the Vision Vehicle were intrigued by the metaverse, finding it stimulating and fun. Then there was the public, who had a blast at the Coldplay concert dancing with others from all over the world. This was evidenced by the waves of social posts by Joytopia visitors, many of which showed people waiting patiently in the queue to see the show! Joytopia was a resounding success, inspiring BMW to include it into its campaign for CES Las Vegas just a few months later.
